It just needs to be said that the drive over the last part of Kansas and into Colorado was the most terrifying 2 hours of my life...
It was 10pm at night after 500+ miles of driving and I was already pretty worn out...
We saw the storm from a distance and as Jason said it was beautiful, but when we finally were into the storm, the lighting was coming so fast it was almost like a strobe light...
The rain was constant and at one point turned to hail....
And the wind was gusting at what I estimate to be 35+ mph pushing the RV all over the road...
I had a couple of opportunities to pull over, but I felt compelled to plunge onward into the "Belly of the Beast"....
It truly was a time of soul searching, but somehow we came out the other side.
